Ornisk is pleased that she does manage to cheer Sasco up a little before she sighs, "Taking down the wall is impossible for one person, yes. Doesn't mean that it's your solution to keeping dragonborn souls from it" she pauses "It's a noble goal, don't doubt it" she pauses again, this time she rubs a hand over her own face "I hope you know that you're not the only one who's looked for a means to avoid it."
Ornisk seems a little despondent herself, it's not something she took pleasure in; but she adds, "I asked the guardian a few questions myself, you know."
Vythmiirik gently puts her hand on Sasco's arm in reassurance, she looks concerned at his shaking.

*Sasco's head shoots up in surprise*
"I'm not? I don't know anyone else who shares a concern about it like I do. Most of my people are ignorant at best or scornful towards me at worst."
*A rumble rolls through his throat as Vyth puts her hand on his arm. It was a welcomed gesture.*
"But you say that it isn't the only solution? Then I beg you to tell me another possible path!"

Martivir huffs and earns a swat in return, Ornisk nods "Yes, you're not alone...most just don't get quite as vocal about it as you do. I'm considered eccentric here for a reason as are my siblings and our father. He was not originally from this clan, and well, he brought some of his 'crazy ideas' with him." She shrugs at that as if to say, 'what can you do' and sighs deeply. "Martivir, father's note book please?" she asks her mate, whom after a few moments of silent communication nods giving her a stoke on her cheek in reassurance as he gets up, soon the sound comes of him moving around upstairs.
"No it's not, though it wont be easy. We have a few theories at the moment, the easiest one would be finding a deity who would give us space on their plane...unlikely due to our circumstances as you are aware. Still worth looking into as we believed it worth it if only to discount it. The hardest one, well as crazy as it sounds; is to effectively make our own afterlife." She pauses and holds up a hand to deter any arguments, clearly used to being in that position. "Now before you judge I should tell you that we do have reason to believe that this has been managed by someone in the past, although records as you are aware are spotty, so we don't know who or how...only that we are very sure that it has been done."

"Making our own space. Now that I think on it that path may not be as crazy given that my clan practices ancestor worship. So they claim that they can hear their voice but I assumed they were speaking form the Wall. But perhaps they were on to something this whole time?"
*He shuffles nervously having seen Martivir's reaction.*

Vythmiirik whispers comfort "Don't worry father had a tendency to think mother, overthinks things. He's not annoyed at you," it is spoken just loud enough to be heard by Sasco.
Ornisk nods "Indeed, it's possible that might be one way to do it; those in the wall don't tend to be overly coherent so it's possible that they might have managed it. My father was researching it all his life and how we might be able to find our own place. I'll let you read his notes" she offers. After a minute or two Martivir comes down; a scruffy looking leather-bound book in his hands, he hands it to Ornisk and plonks himself back down with a huff.
Vythmiirik picks up the used plates to clear space on the table and puts them out of the way, giving the table a quick wipe down so her mother can place the book down with out risking damage.

*He leans forward his face suddenly turning to one of focus. He wipes his hands on a napkin to ensure as little grease and crumbs were on his hands as possible to prevent damage to the book. He smiles at Vyth and nods a silent thanks as she cleans up the space.*
"Your father must have been quite a spiritual man. I'll be honest I don't know where I fall along those lines. I suppose there is a fine line between acknowledging and actively interacting within such matters."

The book resembles as much of a note book as it does a scrap book, photos of various 'holy' or 'spiritual' sites, photos of ancient drawings, sketches, combined with charts of the planes and how they were interwoven. It's almost an encyclopedic in nature, though the writings do also make it clear what is theory rather than what has been clearly observed.
"He was..." Ornisk sighed a faint note of sadness tinting her tone at the thought. "There's nothing wrong with how you view things, indeed you may have unique insight that I lack. Perhaps you will see something that I have not" she adds with a smile folding her hands in her lap.

*He uses his claws to carefully turn the pages and observe the pictures. A feel sites he did recognize, perhaps even visited himself. But he was clearly interested in the sketches of charts.*
"This is far more thorough than I could have imagined! Not only do I see references of rift-side religions but even drew similarities to that of the various religions of this world."
*He taps at a certain chart depicting the various planes*
"If I had to formulate a plan this second, I would find a way to allow our souls to be stored within the "Positive Plane", a plane associated with life giving. I've heard of circles of faiths that practiced the idea of sheltering "The Light" within all beings, the desire for goodness."

Ornisk smiles fondly, it seems she is reminded of something "Yes, he was always very thorough"
She nods at Sasco's opinion "That would be a good place to start, a positive energy area would probably be more welcoming too. Negative energy as I understand tends to be about taking rather than giving, and we don't want that. Though remember, planes tend to overlap a little so we might not need to look directly at the positive energy itself if we can find a part that overlaps with somewhere that would also be comfortable?" It's clear she wants him to think about it, but in enjoying the conversation now it has gone onto more bittersweet memories than the fearful ones she was recalling before.

*His face lights up as he stands up and begins pacing around the room.*
"Indeed there is overlap. Not just between Light and Dark but that of...well, most would say Law and Chaos but I think a more accurate description is that of Structure and Wilderness. Given that many of my clan's rituals originate from what many would call "Barbaric", forgive my use of such an outdated term, I think it is a reasonable hypothesis that an ideal afterlife would lie within the boundary of Light and Wilderness. I know of an ancient Order that worked similar to that of a Druidic Circle that preferred such an ideal place."
*He points to a few pictures of what appear to be various locations depicting "druidic" locations*
"Perhaps my people lost their way after the great war with the dragons. We became so focused over structure and law that we allowed ourselves to obsess over crime and punishment. Perhaps due to influences from the cultures of our neighbors."
*He turns towards Vyth with perhaps the most beaming reaction she has ever seen from him.*
"Perhaps ironic, is that it wasn't disciplined military tactics or strict adherence to clan nor divine laws that helped us win against the dragons. It was cunning and raw fury unleashed in battle."

Ornisk herself nods "Indeed I had not thought to attempt that, it is a fascinating concept!" She seems pleased as she watches Sasco walk around. "Hmm, we grew our own culture, which is nothing to scoff at but indeed we should probably look to our nature to find where our balance lies, perhaps that will point to our ideal home?" It was a good ideas, but Ornisk was aware that it would not be easy, in her opinion dragonborn needed a balance between natural ferocity and calm level headed logic in order to truly succeed.
Vythmiirk though was very pleased to see that her friend had found something new in his plan to avoid the wall. She grins in return "Yes it really is, is it not" she replied happily.

*He eventually sits down as he starts to come down from his high. After a few silent moments mulling his information over he turns back to Ornisk.*
"I'll need to put my own hypothesis to the test. The best way to prove that my own idea has merit is for me to get in touch with one of my ancestors. Perhaps the graveyard can still come into play? I'll need a place of strong spiritual connection. The closer connection to our people, the better."

Ornisk hums, "Perhaps, it is a very strong place and the guardian does have a presence. Though I think that would be something to prepare for, rather than rushing off half prep'd," she chides gently, pleased with the progress but not wanting Sasco to get in over his head.
"Research and knowledge will be the best weapons in getting to the graveyard" she adds.

"Indeed."
*He walks over to a window and stares outside, letting his thoughts settle.*
"It looks like my stay here will be considerably longer than I expected. A trip to the library is likely in order."

Ornisk tilts her head, "Indeed, well you can always ask me if you have any questions... Oh, would you like to copy any of my father's notes? You're welcome to come back to look at it if you'd like, I don't mind."
Martivir sighs, "Well, this has been one heck of a roller coaster now hasn't it?! Still you got your answers Sasco?"

*He gives a slow nod*
"It would be wonderful if I could take copies. I don't wish to handle the originals more than I need to."
*He turns with a bit of a jump towards Martivir*
"Hmm! Yes, I do believe I have sufficient answers for now. Sorry to keep you waiting."

Ornisk nodded "You may take copies of course, do you have the means to do so yourself?" she asks wondering if she should offer the usage of the small office in the house.
Martivir laughs "No need to get jumpy" he pats Sasco on the shoulder, probably a little harder than Sasco may have expected, clearly a little too enthusiastic "I'm glad you got what you needed, no worries about time. I don't mind all the talking"

*After the firm patting, Sasco rotates his shoulder.*
"Ah yes, that's good then. As for copies, I do have access to a copier though if you have one handy here I think it would be best to use that so that the journal can stay here."
*He gave himself a moment to let out a sigh. Despite the intense period he felt like he was still welcomed and Vyth's family were willing to help him out far more than any of the other locals.*

Ornisk give Martivir a look at his patting of Sasco's shoulder, "Certainly, you can use the office upstairs to copy pages from the notebook. Vyth can you take Sasco there and show him how it works?" Martivir looks a little sheepish at Sasco's reaction and his mate's expression.
Vythmiirik nodded to her mother "Of course, happy to do so" she grinned to Sasco and picked up the book "This way Sasco, you'll have to let me know what pages you wanted copied"

*He nods and attempts to say something back at Ornisk before sheepishly staying quiet and follow Vyth's lead to the office.*
"I'll certainly want copies of the pictures. Anything mentioning the old history of our people as well."
